Touch shouldn’t be a forgotten language…

What a beautiful Reiki experience today working with one of my newest clients! Before her session she shared with me that she decided to seek a session with me for some balance and peace away from her busy life as Mom of 3 toddlers, a wife, and writer. AFTER her session she was teary eyed.  She shared that she had no idea just how much she simply needed human touch with no expectations and how she needed some simple loving kindness. She said that she was taken aback by how truly wonderful that felt. Well…that priceless moment made me teary eyed too.
Osho was so right on when he said “The act of touch is one of the most forgotten languages.” Our bodies are built for connection. Not just a casual hug or hand on the shoulder. It says ‘I’m right here, fully present with you, in this moment”. Studies have shown that the cells in our bodies expand when they feel love and contract when they feel its opposite, and our ability to use our touch to share that energy with another is an innate gift which we all carry and should not forget.
